Turmeric

~ enhances or lengthens the freshness of seafood.
~ marinate fish with salt and turmeric powder to prevent it from spoiling.
~ a turmeric and salt mixture is also good to remove the muddy odour from fresh water fish.
~ simply make a thick paste of turmeric and salt , marinate the fish , especially the stomach area , leave it for at least half an hour and then rinse.
~ when cooking exotic meat like venison and even frozen meat , throw in a few slices of fresh turmeric or a crushed turmeric leaf and you will find that the meat is not only fragrant but also tender.
